  1. Identify a potential information source as primary, secondary, and/or tertiary
  2. Explain which characteristics of a source position it on a hierarchy of evidence
  3. Navigate a course research guide to find different types of source materials:
    1. Books
    2. Reference Materials
    3. Viewpoint essays
    4. News sources
    5. Journal articles
  4. Construct effective database searches for journal articles.
    1. One idea per line
    2. Separate searches for separate points in paper
    3. Use limiters
    4. Use subject terms
  5. Locate source material for your speech and send those sources to yourself (goal: 2 sources by the end of class)
